Art Support Groups

There are 10 art support group meetings which will be held across Hampshire once a term. These meetings are for all art managers and teachers with a responsibility for teaching art in the primary sector. The meetings are designed to cover Hampshire geographically so that teachers can attend the group most conveniently located for their school or home. They will be led by Jayne Stillman, County Inspector/Adviser for Visual Arts and an Art Associate, Kathy Whitford.

The groups have become an invaluable forum for practical workshops to improve teachers' knowledge and confidence in teaching art (workshop examples). They provide opportunities to explore the latest issues, and share problems and successes.

The sessions will be held in May/June/July, September/October/November 2018 and January/February/March 2019. The venues are Merdon Junior School, Greatham Primary School, St Mark's CE Primary School, Guillemont Junior School, Grange Junior School, Botley CE Primary School, Bartley CE Junior School, St Alban's CE Primary School, All Saints CE Primary and St Johns Cathedral Catholic Primary School in Portsmouth.

The art support groups are administered by HTLC and as such can be booked onto by visiting The course code is ARTC0225. There is an adjustment with the pricing this year with the costing now being for a single membership. Schools may join part way through the year and will be charged pro-rata.
